Here is an acitivity I do every year. I have adapted to from a story I got out of Great Activities years ago. I can't remember who was the original author. Sorry.
SANTA’S REINDEER
K-1 (Foam balls, areas marked off, bells)

How many of you like to play pretend. Today we are going to pretend to be reindeer. But before we start I want to remind you of a few things. Always watch out for each other and move without touching anyone. During this activity you will go out into the grass, I just want to remind you that you are NOT to throw anything. You will be asked to pretend like you are playing in the snow you may pretend like you are throwing snow balls but be careful not to really throw anything You will also need to be very quiet reindeer so you can hear the story. You will all start off lying on the ground as if you were in your stalls asleep.

Every Christmas Santa’s Reindeer have to pull his sleigh all the way around the world. In order to do this the reindeer have to keep fit all year long. Other wise they would tire and never make it around the world. On Christmas eve there is no time for rest, so they must be in tip top shape. They start off by getting a good nights rest in their stalls.

When they wake up in the morning they being to S T R E T C H. After stretching they go over to the troth and begin eating a good breakfast. They know that it is important to eat a good breakfast to do their very best each and every day.

They hear Santa’s bells and they all run over to Santa and stand at attention in their own personal space. They were careful to spread out because they know its time for their morning exercises.

They begin with jumping jacks... then they hop on one hoof..., then the other hoof.... Now they stop and stand up straight and slowly lean back to stretch out their backs. Then they start jogging in place to warm up their muscles. (Keep jogging)

The reindeer did this everyday all year long and because they did they were always Fit to Achieve. They knew they could make the trip around the world. (Stop) Now the exercises are over and it is time to go out and play in the snow. (Go pretend to play in snow. Wait while they play.)

Santa Jingles his bells and all the reindeer run over to him again. He knew their favorite game was Tunnel Tag so they all go off to play the game. (Go play the game.) (Ring Bell) Children should all run over. It’s time to finish our story. The reindeer played tag all day long. They were so tired they laid down right where they were and went sound to sleep. They slept all night and all day and when they woke up it was Christmas Eve and time to pull Santa’s Sleigh.
Yeah!
THE END
