SURVIVOR
I use this game with a large number of students (75-80) for
fun and aerobic activity.
Equipement: 4-6 soft stuffed animals
The students make a perimeter for the game by sitting in a
circle.. Number the students from 1-5 (for larger classes you can go up
to 8). This game is like dodgeball. After calling a number, the
students with that number run to the middle and pick up a stuffed
animal. They must throw the stuffed animals at each other and
once hit a player must sit back down in the
perimeter. When only two people are left in the game, you stop
the game and declare these two the "survivors." They get
to stay in the middle of the playing area and will be part of the next
game. Call out the next number and repeat this process until everyone has
gotten to play.
Dodgeball can get too
aggresive, but with this game you find the students cheering for
the "survivors." And the survivors sometimes are your most
timid students.
