This week will be a continuation of the Presidentail Fitness Test. The students will be asked to complete each activity. However, they will have to them more times than they did before. This week, we will focus on endurance. At the end of the week, there will be a quiz on the vocabulary words which the students will take.

 

Grade/Level:

6-12, Mastery Level 2.6

 

Objective:

The students will become familiar with the activities pertained in the Presidential Fitness test.

 

Summary:

Each activity that was completed last week will be completed. However, the students will be asked to complete the activites more times than they were asked to do the following week.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

Learning Context:

The Presidential Fitness test is a major component of the physical education unit that the students will have to learn.

 

Procedure:

On Monday 4-28, the students will complete the V-sit portion of the Presidential Fitness test. The students will be shown the correct demonstration of how to complete this test as well as the other exercises for the week.

On Tuesday 4-29, the students will complete the curl-ups portion of the Presidential Fitness test by themselves. The students will not be shown the correct demonstration of how to complete this test as well as the other exercises for the week. The students will be given a formal grade on this assisgnment based on how well they remember what they are supposed to do.

On Wednesday 4-30, the students will be shown and complete the shuttle-run portion of the test based on the directions given above. There will be a formal grade for this assignment.

On Friday 5-2, the students will be tested on what they have learned about the Presidential Fitness test terminology that is listed in this unit and the correct demonstration of the exercises that were shown. This will be in a multiple choice and short answer format. There will be a review before the test.

 

Differentiated Instruction:

The students will be given a varyng amount of time for each assignment.
