Divide your students into two groups and have each group assume a position
either on the end lines of the gym or on marked/coned off lines outside. Like
illustrated:
XXXXXXXXXXXX
____________center line (line up all available foam balls available)

OOOOOOOOO
On the whistle both teams run to the center and retrieve the balls and begin
throwing them into the other team's yard. When the whistle is blown again
everyone must stop throwing and collect all the "junk" on their side to be
counted.  The side with the most "junk" losses.  I use this game with my K-3
and stress good sportsmanship> Students get use to the concept of praising
each other and giving only positive feedback to each other.  In this age
group I further enhance counting skills by messing up the count, or
forgetting what the count is, and sometimes using English, Spanish, and
Japanese when I count.  NOTE: I use this game to look for skills of throwing,
dodging, and locomotor skills invalid in running and jumping.
This is a fun and fast paced game that all my students enjoy.
